March Week 2: Keeping It Real - An Important Step In Maturity

Overview And Objectives
The subsistence level of human existence was our first cultural structure. It wasn't much of a structure, really but nonetheless, in small groups, humans found a way to work together to survive.
Of course at the time, resources were limited. People did not have access to the tools, experience, and machines to transform natural resources we have today. Nonetheless, they developed skills that let them create what they needed.
People at this stage had a very direct and concrete experience of what was available and what was lacking for them. How can it help us to reconnect with that direct experience of living and being they had?

The Subsistence Level Of Human Development
In our sophisticated world, subsistence living is considered primitive. By some standards it is. However, it also brings us gifts especially helping us to focus on what is essential.
Presence, Innocence And Culture
Being present is our base for living well. It is a requirement for any personal growth or quality of life.
“The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak. ”
